Top International plus-size models Liis Windischmann and Diane Pellini celebrate voluptuous beauty with their first calendar shoot
Top International plus-size models Liis Windischmann and Diane Pellini celebrate curvaceous beauty with the debut of their new Fenomenal Calendar. Curvy model Liis will be gracing the cover, while the calendar features models from the world's top modeling agencies. It is a tribute to the 1940's and 1950's pin-up models and to an era in which voluptuous women were celebrated and clothing accentuated the curvy female form. The calendar will be available by late fall.
"Regular size models have had the opportunity to participate in exciting yearly events – The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, The Victoria Secret fashion show, their own calendar launches," said Windischmann. "We decided it was time for voluptuous models to create an equal buzz within the fashion world, giving them something they will clamor to participate in year after year. Our goal is to create a unique, thought provoking product honouring the beauty in all women."
The calendar finally represents the average size of North American women – the models range from size 12 to 14. To encourage women to have fun and celebrate their lives, it will highlight important but lesser known, sometimes whimsical holidays including International No Diet Day (May 6), Best Friends Day (June 8), Be Yourself Day (August 29), National Chocolate Day (December 28), and October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The 2007 Fenomenal Calendar was shot by top NY photographer Christopher Borgman, and California based make-up and hair artist Miles Berdache. Other top models featured include Kristin Briscoe and Sage Salzer.
"It is our goal to launch a gorgeous, fashion forward calendar each year portraying curvy models in various settings," said Pellini. "We need to do something new and different every year that will have the general public eagerly anticipating what the images will look like."
Paris born, New York based curvy model Diane Pellini brings her international fashion flair to the industry and to the calendar.
